Who is California45th? We are your neighbors. We are a grassroots organization not funded or affiliated with a political party or candidate.
Our goals are to reach out and connect with constituents of the 45th Congressional District of California, to encourage civic participation, to educate and inform voters, and to encourage open discussion of issues that are important to each of us. We believe policy should reflect the best interest of our community and be based on fact, verifiable data, and tolerance.
In this 2018 Midterm Election year we are following who the candidates for the CA-45 Congressional Seat are, what the track record of our Congressional Representative is, where campaign contributions are coming from, and what voters in the district think about important political issues.
We were strangers before November 9, 2016. After the election, we were motivated to focus our energies locally. It started with one person creating a Facebook Group for the California 45th and over time we all found our way there. We're as different as you can imagine a handful of Facebook strangers would be, but we're united in a common goal: to put people before party.
I am a freeman, an American, a United States Senator, and a Democrat, in that order.
— President Lyndon B. Johnson
I'm a conservative, but I'm not a nut about it.
— President George H. W. Bush
We want a Congressperson who puts the constituents of the 45th before their own political party, who values facts established via scientific method, who values diversity and inclusiveness, and who acknowledges contrary opinions with reason and respect.
Our mission is simple – to ensure that our voice is heard and that we are well and fairly represented by our elected congressional representative. Our focus is to demand representation that is consistent with the values and beliefs of the constituency and in line with the Constitution.
