California 45th - Public Call for Researchers! #CA45th

  • Mission Viejo, California (map)

Is qualitative research your jam? Could you lose a weekend in regression analysis? Do the librarians ask you where books are? Do you want to bring reason and respect back to local politics in the California 45th? Then we want you at our research summit!

We are focused on data, and that means we need trained researchers who will help us collect that information — whether it’s combing through existing data or executing new studies.

The California 45th organization team includes two experienced researchers. Alexa Cole holds a Ph.D. in Political Science, briefly ran the survey research center at Chapman University, has taught at UCI, Chapman University, and Irvine Valley College and is currently a Professor of Political Science at CSU Northridge. Jeff Mahacek is a veteran corporate researcher having led user and design research programs at PETCO, Experian, Intel, and as a consultant for numerous smaller organizations and government agencies.

We’re looking for researchers coming from a diverse set of skill sets and backgrounds to help us out. Our meeting will start with a general session to talk about our goals and plans, and then we’ll separate into breakout sessions on topics like public opinion polling, candidate finance/donor research, legislation, and district history. The purpose of this meeting is to move from “talking about it” to “doing it”.

Not in the California 45th Facebook group but want to help? Awesome! We have fantastic relationships with a lot of the other local grassroots organizations and would love to partner with you on great research and data transparency.

We love and appreciate the passion of our 1300+ member base, but for this event we’re looking to limit attendance to experienced researchers. Please email us at if you would like to attend and let us know about your background and skill set. Qualified members will receive full event details.
