Talking About Science in the Age of Trump

Join us for a forum “Talking About Science in the Age of Trump,” featuring Cornelia Dean, long time science writer and former Science Editor of the New York Times, affiliate of the Harvard University Center for the Environment, and Distinguished Visiting Lecturer in Environmental Studies at Brown, discussing her new book "Making Sense of Science: Separating Substance from Spin"(Harvard U. Press).

Ms. Dean will be joined by UCI scientists Kathleen Treseder and Kevork Abazajian to discuss the very timely topic of how to help non-scientists deal with and evaluate scientific controversies and scientific "fake news.”

"This engaging book offers non-scientists the tools to connect with and evaluate science, and for scientists it is a timely call to action for effective communication." (Laura Bowater, Times Higher Education)

Event hosted by Judy Kaufman, a member of California 45th and resident of UniHills. Admission is free but please rsvp (judykaufman7@gmail.com) so that attendance can be anticipated.
